Sugar Tip® Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus ‘Sugar Tip’) is a deciduous flowering shrub distinguished by its attractive variegated foliage and abundant double pink flowers. This Proven Winners® selection features bluish-green leaves with creamy-white margins, creating a soft, multicolored appearance throughout the growing season. Its ornamental foliage provides visual interest even when the plant is not flowering.
During summer and into early fall, Sugar Tip® Rose of Sharon produces numerous clear pink, double blossoms with beautifully layered petals. The flowers contrast with the creamy-white leaf edges and blue-green foliage, making this shrub an attractive choice for mixed borders, foundation plantings, cottage gardens, and ornamental landscapes. Sugar Tip® is also known for producing very few seeds, helping reduce unwanted seedlings compared with more freely seeding Rose of Sharon varieties. It performs best in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil.
Each order includes 1 live Sugar Tip® Rose of Sharon shrub supplied in a 3-gallon nursery container. The plant is approximately 18 inches tall at the time of shipping. As a deciduous shrub, it naturally loses its leaves during fall and enters winter dormancy. Depending on seasonal conditions, plants may arrive leafless, recently pruned, or without flowers.
