Strawberry Sundae® Panicle Hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata ‘Rensun’) is a compact, deciduous flowering shrub admired for its large, cone-shaped flower clusters and beautiful seasonal color transitions. The abundant panicles emerge creamy white in midsummer, gradually develop soft pink tones, and finally deepen to rich strawberry red. Under favorable growing conditions, the red coloration can remain attractive for approximately 3–4 weeks, creating extended late-season interest.
Closely resembling the popular Vanilla Strawberry® Hydrangea in flower coloration, Strawberry Sundae® offers a more compact, upright growth habit that is especially useful in smaller landscapes. Its sturdy stems support the substantial flower clusters, while green foliage provides an attractive backdrop throughout the growing season. This panicle hydrangea blooms on new wood and performs well in full sun to partial shade. It prefers fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture and is suitable for foundation plantings, mixed shrub borders, flowering hedges, specimen plantings, and large outdoor containers.
Each order includes 1 live Strawberry Sundae® Panicle Hydrangea shrub supplied in a 2-gallon nursery container. The plant is rooted and container-grown. Flower color and blooming stage vary naturally with seasonal conditions. As a deciduous shrub, it may arrive dormant, leafless, recently pruned, or without flowers.
