Purple Beauty Creeping Phlox (Phlox subulata ‘Purple Beauty’) is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial groundcover admired for its abundant lavender-purple spring flowers and dense, needle-like green foliage. Also known as moss phlox, this ornamental perennial forms a spreading carpet of color that is especially attractive along garden borders, slopes, rock gardens, and stone pathways.
During spring, Purple Beauty Creeping Phlox produces numerous small, five-petaled flowers in shades of lavender-purple, often with a slightly darker center. When flowering heavily, the blossoms can cover much of the foliage, creating a colorful display across the plant's spreading stems. Its fine-textured, evergreen to semi-evergreen foliage provides ground-level interest outside the flowering season.
Purple Beauty Creeping Phlox performs best in full sun and prefers well-drained soil. Once established, it generally tolerates periods of dry weather and is well suited to sunny slopes, raised beds, rock gardens, and landscape edging. Its naturally trailing, spreading growth habit also makes it useful for softening the edges of retaining walls and decorative outdoor containers.
Each order includes 1 live Purple Beauty Creeping Phlox plant supplied in a 1-gallon nursery container (G1).
