Little Spark® Spirea (Spiraea japonica ‘Little Spark’) is a compact deciduous ornamental shrub admired for its colorful foliage and clusters of pink summer flowers. Its new leaves emerge in warm reddish-orange tones before developing into bright golden-yellow foliage, creating an attractive contrast throughout the growing season. During summer, clusters of small pink flowers appear above the leaves, adding another layer of seasonal color.
This Japanese spirea cultivar develops a naturally compact, dense, rounded, mounding growth habit. Little Spark Spirea is well suited for foundation plantings, mixed shrub borders, garden edging, mass plantings, and decorative outdoor containers. Its bright foliage provides ornamental interest even when the plant is not flowering, while the summer blooms attract bees, butterflies, and other visiting pollinators.
Little Spark Spirea performs best in full sun, where its foliage generally develops its strongest golden coloration, although it can tolerate partial shade. It prefers fertile, well-drained soil with moderate moisture and can tolerate occasional dry conditions once established. As a deciduous shrub, it naturally loses its leaves during fall and enters winter dormancy.
Each order includes 1 live Little Spark Spirea supplied in a 3-gallon nursery container (G3).
