Little Henry® Virginia Sweetspire (Itea virginica ‘Sprich’) is a compact, deciduous flowering shrub known for its fragrant white flowers, attractive green foliage, and colorful autumn display. Marketed as Little Henry® by Proven Winners, this selection offers a naturally rounded, mounding growth habit that fits beautifully into foundation plantings, mixed shrub borders, woodland gardens, and smaller landscapes.
In late spring to early summer, Little Henry® produces graceful, elongated clusters of fragrant white flowers that create a cascading appearance against its lush green foliage. The blooms attract visiting pollinators, while the foliage provides an attractive backdrop throughout the growing season. In autumn, the leaves develop rich shades of red, orange, and burgundy, extending the shrub's ornamental interest.
Little Henry® Virginia Sweetspire generally performs well in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a range of soil conditions, including periodically moist sites. It prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil and benefits from consistent moisture during establishment. As a deciduous shrub, it naturally loses its leaves during autumn and enters winter dormancy.
Each order includes 1 live Little Henry® Virginia Sweetspire shrub in a 3-gallon nursery pot (G3).
