Leatherleaf Sedge Firefox 1 Live Ornamental Grass, 1 Gallon Pot – Carex buchananii ‘Firefox’

Leatherleaf Sedge ‘Firefox’ (Carex buchananii ‘Firefox’) is an ornamental sedge admired for its slender, copper-bronze foliage and distinctive architectural appearance. Its fine, grass-like leaves develop warm shades of bronze, reddish-brown, and copper, creating an attractive contrast with green foliage plants and colorful flowering perennials. The narrow leaves emerge upright before arching gracefully outward, producing a soft, textured display.

This clump-forming ornamental sedge adds year-round visual interest in suitable climates. Its warm foliage tones make it especially attractive in contemporary landscapes, mixed perennial borders, rock gardens, ornamental grass collections, and decorative outdoor containers. The delicate leaf texture provides movement and contrast without the broad foliage commonly found on shrubs and flowering perennials.

Firefox Leatherleaf Sedge performs best in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soil. It generally benefits from consistent moisture, particularly during hot or dry conditions. In suitable climates, its foliage may remain present through winter, although cold temperatures and seasonal weather can affect its appearance.
