Kodiak Fresh® Honeysuckle (Diervilla sessilifolia ‘Kodiak Fresh’) is a hardy deciduous flowering shrub valued for its fresh green foliage, attractive branching habit, and clusters of small yellow flowers. Its bright green leaves create a lush appearance throughout the growing season, while the tubular yellow blossoms add cheerful color during summer. The flowers also provide a nectar source for bees and other visiting pollinators.
Unlike climbing honeysuckles, Kodiak Fresh is a bush-type honeysuckle that develops a dense, rounded to spreading growth habit. Its adaptable nature makes it suitable for foundation plantings, woodland edges, mixed shrub borders, naturalistic landscapes, and mass plantings. This ornamental shrub is especially useful where attractive foliage and a relaxed, natural growth habit are desired.
Kodiak Fresh Honeysuckle grows in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a variety of soil conditions when drainage is adequate. It is valued for its adaptability and can tolerate occasional dry periods once established. As a deciduous shrub, it naturally loses its leaves in fall and enters winter dormancy before producing new foliage in spring.
Each order includes 1 live Kodiak Fresh Honeysuckle supplied in a 1-gallon nursery container (G1).
