Kaleidoscope Abelia (Abelia × grandiflora ‘Kaleidoscope’) is a compact ornamental shrub known for its colorful variegated foliage and changing seasonal appearance. Its small, glossy leaves emerge with bright golden-yellow margins surrounding green centers. As temperatures cool, the foliage develops warm shades of orange, red, and bronze, creating a striking display of color throughout the growing season and into fall.
This attractive abelia forms a dense, rounded, mounding shrub with finely branched growth. From summer into fall, it produces clusters of small, fragrant, white, tubular flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Its colorful foliage and delicate flowers make it suitable for foundation plantings, landscape borders, mixed shrub beds, mass plantings, and decorative outdoor containers.
Kaleidoscope Abelia performs best in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. Brighter sunlight generally encourages stronger foliage coloration. Once established, it offers good tolerance of occasional dry conditions. Depending on the climate, it may remain evergreen or semi-evergreen, with some leaf drop possible during colder winters.
Each order includes 1 live Kaleidoscope Abelia supplied in a 2-gallon nursery container.
