Jetstream™ Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia ‘PIIHQ-I’) is a compact, deciduous flowering shrub admired for its abundant white blooms, strong stems, and colorful autumn foliage. Its showy, cone-shaped flower clusters emerge white during the flowering season and gradually develop soft pink tones as they mature. The flowers are held prominently above the foliage, creating an attractive ornamental display.
This oakleaf hydrangea develops a dense, compact, well-branched growth habit with sturdy stems that help keep its substantial flower clusters upright. Its lustrous, dark green, oak-shaped leaves provide attractive texture throughout the growing season before transitioning to brilliant orange-red tones in fall. The foliage is also noted for its resistance to leaf spot, although resistance does not guarantee immunity under all growing conditions. Jetstream™ is well suited to woodland borders, foundation plantings, mixed shrub beds, specimen displays, and naturalistic landscapes. It generally performs best in partial shade to filtered sunlight and prefers fertile, well-drained soil with consistent moisture. Unlike panicle hydrangeas, oakleaf hydrangeas typically flower on old wood.
Each order includes 1 live Jetstream™ Oakleaf Hydrangea shrub supplied in a 3-gallon nursery container. The plant is rooted and container-grown. Flower color, foliage density, and seasonal appearance vary naturally with growing conditions. As a deciduous shrub, it may arrive dormant, leafless, recently pruned, or without flowers.
