Heritage River Birch (Betula nigra ‘Cully’), commonly known as Heritage® River Birch, is a deciduous ornamental shade tree prized for its distinctive exfoliating bark, attractive green foliage, and graceful branching structure. This cultivated selection of the North American native river birch develops peeling bark in shades of cinnamon, salmon, cream, and tan, providing year-round visual interest in residential landscapes, woodland gardens, and naturalized planting areas.

During spring and summer, Heritage River Birch produces glossy, diamond-shaped green leaves that create an attractive canopy. Its foliage typically turns yellow in autumn before dropping for winter dormancy. This adaptable tree performs well in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, slightly acidic soil, although established trees can tolerate a range of soil conditions. It is particularly suitable for rain gardens, moist landscapes, specimen plantings, and areas where ornamental bark is a desirable feature.

Each order includes 1 live Heritage River Birch tree supplied in a 3-gallon nursery container. The tree is approximately 36 inches tall at the time of shipping. As a deciduous tree, it may arrive with reduced foliage, without leaves, or in a dormant condition depending on the season.
