Golden Variegated Japanese Forest Grass 1 Live Plant – Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’ – Quart Pot

Golden Variegated Japanese Forest Grass (Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’) is an ornamental perennial grass valued for its distinctive golden-yellow foliage accented by green stripes. Its narrow, arching leaves create a soft, flowing appearance that adds color, texture, and movement to shaded gardens and woodland landscapes.

This Japanese forest grass develops a graceful, mounding growth habit with cascading foliage that drapes naturally over the edges of garden beds and containers. Its variegated leaves provide attractive contrast alongside hostas, ferns, heucheras, and other shade-loving perennials. During autumn, the foliage may develop warm pink, red, or bronze tones before entering winter dormancy.

This listing includes one live Golden Variegated Japanese Forest Grass in a quart nursery pot. It performs best in partial shade to shade and prefers fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil with consistent moisture. Its compact, arching form is suitable for woodland borders, ornamental edging, shaded garden beds, and outdoor containers.
