Fountains of Rouge Sweetspire 1 Live Flowering Shrub, 3 Gallon Pot – Itea ‘Fountains of Rouge’

Fountains of Rouge Sweetspire (Itea ‘Fountains of Rouge’) is an ornamental flowering shrub valued for its fragrant white blooms, deep green foliage, and rich autumn color. This selection develops a compact, rounded growth habit with attractive, leathery leaves that provide texture and visual interest throughout the growing season.

In late spring, Fountains of Rouge produces fragrant white flower clusters measuring 4–6 inches long. These elongated, wand-like blooms create a graceful display against the dark green foliage. As temperatures cool in autumn, the leaves develop striking dark red tones, extending the shrub's ornamental appeal beyond its flowering season.

Its compact form makes Fountains of Rouge suitable for foundation plantings, mixed shrub borders, woodland-style gardens, and naturalistic landscapes. Sweetspire generally prefers moist, well-drained soil and performs well in full sun to partial shade. Consistent soil moisture is especially beneficial during establishment and periods of dry weather.
