Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis) is a deciduous ornamental flowering tree native to eastern and central North America. It is especially admired for its abundant purplish-pink, pea-like flowers that emerge along the branches in early spring, often during April, before the foliage appears. The blossoms create a colorful display on the otherwise bare branches, making Eastern Redbud a distinctive spring-flowering landscape tree.

Following the flowers, attractive heart-shaped green leaves emerge and provide seasonal texture throughout the growing season. Eastern Redbud develops a naturally branching, spreading form and is well suited to woodland edges, ornamental landscapes, mixed borders, and specimen plantings. Its early flowers also provide nectar and pollen for visiting bees and other pollinators.

Supplied as one live Eastern Redbud tree in a 3 gallon nursery pot, this plant generally grows well in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil with moderate moisture. Its combination of spring blossoms, heart-shaped foliage, and natural branching structure makes it a versatile ornamental tree for residential gardens and native plant landscapes.
