Canaan Fir (Abies balsamea var. phanerolepis) is an evergreen conifer valued for its attractive green needles, classic conical growth habit, and naturally symmetrical branching. Closely related to balsam fir, this tree provides year-round greenery and a traditional evergreen appearance suitable for ornamental landscapes and conifer collections.

Its short, soft-looking needles and layered branches create a dense, textured appearance as the tree develops. Canaan Fir is especially well suited to cooler climates and landscapes with adequate moisture and good soil drainage. It is commonly grown as an ornamental evergreen and is also associated with Christmas tree production.

Supplied as one live Canaan Fir tree in a 1 gallon nursery pot, this specimen has a specified shipping height of approximately 12 inches. It generally performs best in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. The young tree is suitable for establishing in a landscape with adequate room for continued growth.
