Black Tower Elderberry – 1 Live Columnar Shrub, 1-Gallon Size – Sambucus nigra ‘Eiffel 1’

Black Tower Elderberry (Sambucus nigra ‘Eiffel 1’, marketed as BLACK TOWER) is an ornamental deciduous shrub valued for its distinctive upright, columnar growth habit and rich purple-black foliage. Its narrow, architectural form provides a striking vertical accent in garden borders, mixed shrub plantings, and ornamental landscapes.

The deeply colored leaves create a dramatic backdrop for clusters of soft pink flowers that typically appear in late spring to early summer. The flowers may be followed by dark purple-black elderberries when pollination and growing conditions are suitable. Flowering and fruit production vary by plant maturity, seasonal conditions, and pollination.

Black Tower Elderberry performs best in full sun to partial shade and prefers fertile, moderately moist, well-drained soil. Good sunlight generally supports the strongest foliage coloration. Its upright growth habit makes it useful for accent plantings, mixed borders, and large outdoor containers.

This listing includes 1 live Black Tower Elderberry shrub in the 1-gallon size category. Shipping height, root condition, and nursery pot inclusion have not been specified.

Botanical Identification Note: ‘Eiffel 1’ is the cultivar designation, while BLACK TOWER is its trade name. The botanical identification is Sambucus nigra ‘Eiffel 1’.

Fruit Safety Note: Elderberry foliage, stems, and unripe fruit should not be consumed. Ripe elderberries also require appropriate preparation before culinary use. This listing is primarily intended for ornamental landscape planting.
