Big Daddy Plantain Lily – 1 Live Hosta Perennial, 1-Gallon Size – Hosta ‘Big Daddy’

Big Daddy Plantain Lily (Hosta ‘Big Daddy’) is an ornamental herbaceous perennial prized for its large, rounded, deeply textured blue-green leaves. The foliage has a distinctive puckered surface and a softly cupped appearance, creating a bold visual accent in shaded garden beds and woodland landscapes.

This hosta develops a dense, mounding clump of overlapping leaves that provides attractive texture throughout the growing season. During summer, upright flower stalks rise above the foliage and carry pale lavender to nearly white, bell-shaped blossoms. These flowers can attract hummingbirds and other flower-visiting wildlife.

Big Daddy Hosta performs best in partial shade to full shade and prefers fertile, organically rich, consistently moist, well-drained soil. Its prominent foliage makes it suitable for shade borders, foundation plantings, woodland gardens, and large outdoor containers. As a herbaceous perennial, it typically dies back during winter and reemerges in spring.
